This was the last of the classic Rolex link chronographs before the brand introduced the now-famous Daytona.I'm always keeping one eye peeled for a vintage watch in these scenarios.As I remain entirely enamored with this Seiko – I’ve been wearing it almost constantly over the past year, and both talking about it on my podcast and posting images of it on Instagram – I thought I’d take a few minutes to share my long-term feelings about the watch and address some of the most common questions about the SPB143 that I’ve received over the past year.</br>

25% premium is quite a bit, and if a watch gets auctioned again, at least another 20-25% link goes into the auction house.Those numbers are staggering, but the true impact is in the 41 complications and how they are integrated.When adjusting the calendar functions, I found the push/pull onion crown easy to use.Visually, there's an interesting detail that recalls the original watch from 1945 that inspired this model. While the indices are pink gold, the hour and minutes hands are rhodium-plated, and the small seconds hand is gold. This interplay of disparate materials was present on the reference that spawned the 1945 family, and it carries through to this new model.</br>
