Another brand I keep an eye on is Ebel. As some of you will know, we have dedicated quite a few articles to the brand, and Robert-Jan bought a beautiful El Primero-powered Sport Classic Chronograph. While the Classic Sport and the 1911 are great link to watch out for, I fell in love with the Ebel Le Modulor Chronograph ref. 5137241. The grandeur of this elegant piece is simply wonderful.Each of the 11 gold-crafted elements which it comprises, from its clawed feet to its snout enhanced by whiskers, was conscientiously hand-sculpted and -engraved.The watchmaking as well is incredible and I still struggle to wrap my head around how someone could come up with such an elegant solution to an incredible problem. The entire endeavor reminds me of "The Easter Problem," which remains a watchmaking bit of trivia I find myself returning to and pondering. Now I've got another watch to ponder, one that opens me up to a new culture and its own ways of perceiving time.</br>

The beige lume feels a bit mismatched against the stark white dial. And while I love the idea of a snow-white dial on a watch called the Antarctic, to me the eggshell best captures the watch's vintage aspirations.</br>
